US immigration
The United States Of America, a diverse and vast nation, ranks as the third-largest country in the world by both area and nearly the third-largest by population. As of 2022, there are over 2.5 million Vietnamese individuals residing in the U.S., making them one of the top 10 largest foreign-born communities in the country. California, in particular, is home to the largest Vietnamese population. Vietnamese immigrants come to the U.S. for various reasons such as education, employment, business opportunities, or to create a new living environment.
Vietnamese Americans predominantly reside in 4 states:
- California (39%), with concentrations in Orange County, Santa Clara County, and Los Angeles.
- Texas (13%), primarily in the city of Houston.
- Washington and Florida (4%).
